Sailing Regatta2017 Sailing Regatta Competition held for the V-15 NC State Championship or the Sunfish Fleet 639 Championship on Beautiful Bogue Sound just off the Morehead City waterfront on the Sunday of the Festival.

Traditional sailing skiffs will start from the beach at 10th Street at noon on Sunday, October 8th and race through the Morehead City Harbor, into the Turning Basin, and on to Beaufort. The finish is on the beach opposite the NC Maritime Museum on Front Street in Beaufort. Participating boats should be on the beach at 10th Street one hour prior to the start for those interested in getting a closer look at the vessels. Many of the boats will be ones which are fashioned after skiffs- the design of which was developed on the southern coast of North Carolina for fishing and transportation years ago.
